Kommentar: Im August 2010 wurde von ARTE eine 3D-Fassung von Jack Arnolds Horrorklassiker Creature of the Black Lagoon ausgestrahlt, die sich jedoch genauso wie die am gleichen Tag gesendete dreidimensionale Fassung von Dial M for Murder als große Enttäuschung herausgestellt hatte, weil ein uraltes Bildmaster eingesetzt wurde, das die 3D-Effekte nur mit großen Problemen wiedergibt. Zwar ist die Bildqualität des 3D-Masters von Creature of the Black Lagoon etwas besser als beim Hitchcock-Film, aber die starken vertikalen Verschiebungen zwischen den 3D-Paaren machen diese Fassung auch kaum anschaubar. Verglichen mit der ausgezeichneten amerikanischen DVD des Films wird deutlich, wie schlecht das vermutlich Jahrzehnte alte 3D-Master ist.

Comment: In August 2010 ARTE showed a 3D-version of Jack Arnolds horror classic Creature of the Black Lagoon, which turned out to be a similar disappointment like the three-dimensional version of Dial M for Murder shown on the same day. An ancient master was used, which reproduced the 3D effects only with huge problems - the quality of Creature's 3D-master was somewhat better than that of the Hitchcock movie, but the heavy vertical shifting of the 3D pairs made this version also hardly watchable. Compared to the excellent american DVD of the movie it becomes apparent how bad the presumably decades-old 3D master really is.
